Stake is one of the biggest online crypto casinos in the world, but Duel is gaining widespread recognition as a strong Stake alternative.

Duel.com vs Stake.com Overview
Before you decide whether to play at Duel or Stake, learning a little about each site’s history and licensing will help you make an informed choice.
What is Duel?
Duel is an online crypto casino that features thousands of games from some of the top software providers in the iGaming industry. It was launched in July 2025 by Immortal Snail LLC with a goal to create a fairer gambling experience for members.
At Duel casino, players can place wagers on slots, live casino games, virtual table games, live game shows, and sports events. Duel accepts 16 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
However, what helps Duel stand out in the crypto casino market is its straight-talking style. Duel tells you why it wants to be different from other online casinos by delivering “the purest form of gambling.”
Its team felt certain aspects of the online gambling world have been unfair for too long and created Duel as the “antidote.” It already includes several games with a 100% Return to Player (RTP), and it aims to add more to its collection. For a closer look at whether that promise holds up, see our Is Duel Legit? review.
What is Stake?
Stake is a crypto casino launched in 2017 and operated by Medium Rare N.V. It has become one of the leading online casinos in the world, with a wide range of virtual and live games. Stake also features a sportsbook that allows you to bet on events across the globe.
As for wagering at Stake, you can use fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies, including Cronos (CRO), Tether (USDT), and Polygon (MATIC). Unlike Duel, Stake operates a VIP club and several promotions that can help you compete with other players for winnings. Bonuses cover slots, sports betting, and live gaming.
Additionally, Stake runs challenges across various games, offering you the chance to claim prizes for hitting milestones. In the game lobby, you’ll also find slots that are exclusive to Stake, such as Dragonspire Frostfall and Big Bass Rock and Roll.
Duel.com vs Stake.com: RTP Compared
As external software brands provide most of Duel and Stake’s games, many of the RTPs tend to be the same. But their own in-house games offer the highest RTPs. How do they compare?
Duel RTP
Duel Originals have a 100% RTP and 0% house edge. What does that mean? In theory, the games can return all of the money wagered over time.
But RTP is calculated across millions of spins, and actual returns can vary wildly during individual gaming sessions.
Most of the games at Duel are supplied by external companies, so their RTPs are usually closer to the industry average of 96%. In most cases, the house edge is between 2% and 4%.
Visit Duel casino today to explore the 0% house edge yourself.
Stake RTP
Stake’s own Blackjack has the best theoretical RTP and house edge of the lot: 99.43% and 0.57%, respectively. For every $100 wagered, the game may return $99.43 in the long run.
Stake’s Plinko is next, with a 99% RTP and a 1% house edge. But the rest of the Stake Originals have a smaller RTP/house edge or less. Chicken, for example, is a Stake Original with a top payout of 181,060.88x your bet and a theoretical RTP of 98% (2% house edge).
As for Stake’s other games, the RTP can be solid but is generally average.
Rakeback, Rewards & VIP Programs
Duel offers an instant rakeback system of 50%, which is one of its most important and appealing features. The rakeback is worth 50% of the house edge paid to the casino while you play slots and live casino games.
However, Duel offers no VIP club or similar loyalty program. Duel’s team believes that bonuses are unfair to players and fail to provide the value they claim to.
If you’re looking for a Stake alternative that eliminates bonuses and offers higher rakeback, Duel could be right for you.
At Stake, the rakeback is 3.5% on slots, table games, and live casino games. However, you can only earn rakeback as a VIP Club member at the Bronze level or higher. As such, you need to wager at least $10,000 before you can start claiming rakeback.
Stake’s other VIP levels are:
- Silver – $50,000 wagered
- Gold – $100,000 wagered
- Platinum 1 – 3 – $250,000 – $2,500,000 wagered
- Platinum 4 – 6 – $2,500,000 – $25,000,000 wagered
- Diamond 1 – 5 – $25,000,000 wagered
The VIP rewards increase as you reach higher levels. Bronze members receive weekly bonuses, monthly bonuses, rakeback, and Level Up bonuses. But Silver members also receive “bonus growth” (higher bonus values).
By the time you reach the Platinum level, you can expect daily and reload bonuses and a dedicated VIP host. Diamond members receive a bonus in their chosen currency from their host along with the rest of the rewards.
KYC Requirements
Duel does not require most players to complete any KYC processes when creating an account. As such, registering is generally quick and simple. However, Duel will still prompt you to verify your identity if it suspects underage gambling or rule breaking.
You will need to submit a copy of your passport or an official ID and undertake a facial recognition scan via SumSub. Duel aims to verify identities in 24 hours or less.
Otherwise, Duel may not ask you to verify your identity.
Stake will invite you to verify your identity before you can withdraw funds from your account. You must submit documents to confirm that you are who you claim to be when opening your account.
Stake’s Help Center has detailed step-by-step guidance on identity verification. The documents required include a passport, national ID card, or a driving license.
If privacy is your priority when choosing whether to sign up with Duel or Stake, the former may be best for you.
Deposits & Withdrawals
You can use various cryptos to deposit and withdraw funds at Duel and Stake. But do they charge fees, and how quickly do they process transactions?
Duel
Duel accepts 16 cryptocurrencies:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Tether (USDT)
- USD Coin (USDC)
- Solana (SOL)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Avalanche (AVAX)
- Chainlink (LINK)
- Tron (TRX)
- Ripple (XRP)
- Cardano (ADA)
- Hedera (HBAR)
- Binance Coin (BNB)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
- Toncoin (TON)
You won’t pay any platform fees for depositing or withdrawing funds. But you may need to cover blockchain network fees, which differ between cryptos.
Duel’s minimum deposit and withdrawal limit is $1.00. There are no limits on maximum deposits or withdrawals. However, you must meet the 1x wagering requirement before processing withdrawals (a standard anti-money laundering safeguard).
Duel is a crypto-only casino. But if you don’t have a crypto wallet, you can use fiat money to buy crypto on Duel instead (via Swapped). Crypto novices can get started on Duel with ease, which makes it an appealing Stake alternative.
As Duel is crypto-only, withdrawals are usually processed within three to five minutes. Duel states that the processing speed has been tested by an independent body and that no manual approval is needed.
Stake
Stake accepts 21 cryptocurrencies:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
- EOS (EOS)
- Tron (TRX)
- Binance Coin (BNB)
- Tether (USDT)
- USD Coin (USDC)
- Cronos (CRO)
- Dai (DAI)
- ApeCoin (APE)
- The Sandbox (SAND)
- Chainlink (LINK)
- Uniswap (UNI)
- Shiba Inu (SHIB)
- Solana (SOL)
- Polygon (MATIC)
- TrumpCoin (TRUMP)
- Ripple (XRP)
Stake has no maximum deposit or withdrawal limits. The minimum withdrawal depends on the crypto chosen.
Stake lets you deposit via fiat payment and cryptocurrencies. You can buy crypto using Moonpay or Swapped (as on Duel) or from an exchange as usual. Alternatively, use Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or other common methods.
Stake’s processing times vary. Bank transfers may take up to three business days, while crypto should clear immediately.
Duel Originals vs Stake Originals
Both Duel and Stake host original games unavailable elsewhere. But does Duel or Stake offer a bigger range of originals?
Duel Originals
You can choose from 11 Duel Originals:
- Dice
- Blackjack
- Plinko
- Crash
- Mines
- Beef
- Keno
- Castle Roulette
- Video Poker
- Groomer’s Van
- Rock Paper Scissors
The range includes various themes and gameplay styles. Crash is a simple crash game with a basic design, built for fast, no-fuss betting. Beef is a more colorful game that invites you to help a cow cross a road to rack up wins.
As I mentioned earlier in my Duel vs Stake review, Duel Originals have a 100% RTP and a 0% house edge. While you can still lose money on these games, you have a more balanced chance to win than in titles with a higher house edge.
But apart from that, the Duel Originals games are well made and fun to play.
Stake Originals
You can take your pick from 31 Stake Originals:
- Dice
- Mines
- Plinko
- Limbo
- Blackjack
- Keno
- Chicken
- Crash
- Hilo
- Dragon Tower
- Moles
- Flip
- Wheel
- Pump
- Snakes
- Roulette
- Rock Paper Scissors
- Baccarat
- Tome of Life
- Diamonds
- Darts
- Packs
- Slide
- Drill
- Prime Dice
- Scarab Spin
- Cases
- Tarot
- Video Poker
- Bars
- Blue Samurai
The Stake Originals range is similar in some respects to Duel’s in-house games. Both casinos have Video Poker, Rock Paper Scissors, and Crash, though they’re different games.
Despite the similar concepts, though, Stake Originals have a lower RTP than Duel’s. I covered the RTPs earlier in my Duel vs Stake review, but as a reminder, Stake’s Blackjack has the highest at 99.43%.
Game Selection: Slots and Live Games
I’ve covered the Duel Originals and Stake Originals, but does Duel or Stake have more games overall?
Duel Games
Duel is home to more than 5,000 slots from Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Hacksaw Gaming, Red Tiger, and other popular brands. These include Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, Starlight Princess, Sweet Bonanza, and many more.
As for live options, you can play dozens of table games and game shows at Duel. Choose from Red Door Roulette, Dream Catcher, Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Treasure Island, and Monopoly Big Baller.
Stake Games
Stake has over 3,500 games across slots, live-dealer games, and live game shows. Stake’s software providers include Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, and Nolimit City. The slots collection features Le Fisherman, Five Horsemen, Sugar Rush 1000, Wanted Dead or a Wild, and The Big Dog House.
Live games at Stake include Casino Hold ‘Em, Mega Baccarat, XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, Gates of Olympus Roulette, and Dice City.
Sportsbook Comparison
If you want to place bets on events from around the world, both Duel and Stake have a diverse sportsbook.
Duel Sportsbook
Duel’s sportsbook is easy to navigate and allows you to wager on dozens of sports. You can explore events across basketball, soccer, volleyball, rugby, pro wrestling, ski jumping, golf, and more.
Racing events are also covered, such as horse racing, NASCAR, and Formula 1. Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and other popular games appear in the eSports section.
As with the rest of the site, I found Duel’s sports section easy to use. Basic icons along the top of the screen make jumping between sports simple, and the event builder lets you stack bets.
Stake Sportsbook
Stake’s sportsbook covers sports and eSports worldwide. You can place bets on live events, view trending options, and see fixtures starting soon.
By clicking on ‘All’ in the sidebar menu, you can bring up a complete list of the sports/event types available. Each one features its own colorful thumbnail image, which is a nice touch. You can also look for a specific sport using the search box to save time.
Additionally, Stake’s sportsbook lets you wager on politics and entertainment, which was unavailable at Duel while writing my Duel vs Stake review.
However, in my opinion, Stake’s sportsbook may be a little more complicated for beginners than Duel’s. There’s not a huge amount of difference between the two, but I feel that Duel’s sportsbook design and structure is a little more accessible overall.
Community, Reputation & Trust
Always consider a casino’s credentials carefully before you sign up. With that in mind, Duel and Stake both have active communities, legitimate licenses, and positive reputations. All licensing information is correct at the time of writing, but it can change over time. For a full breakdown of Duel’s licensing and safety record, read our Is Duel Legit? review.
Duel
Duel is licensed and regulated by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros. It has complied with the authority’s regulatory requirements and is licensed to provide gambling services in specific locations (excluding the US, Germany, and several other European countries).
Duel doesn’t operate its own on-site forum, but it has links to dedicated Discord, X/Twitter, Telegram, and Instagram accounts. At present, Duel has more than 24,000 followers on Instagram.
Duel also has a small range of responsible gambling tools, which may make it less appealing as a Stake alternative.
Various review websites have published positive coverage of Duel, praising its dedication to 0% house edge and transparency. But like any online casino, Duel has also received its fair share of unflattering reviews.
Read a mixture of good and bad reviews for a balanced insight into Duel before you sign up.
Stake
Stake is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, and you can view information about the license on the site. It’s legally allowed to operate in Brazil, Austria, New Zealand, and several other countries.
Stake has its own forum to encourage community building and player-to-player interactions. Browsing the forum shows discussions on promotions, games, and other topics.
In the footer, you’ll find links to Stake’s Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, blog, and forum.
Stake’s responsible gambling tools are varied, and there’s plenty of information to help you play safely.
Stake has received many solid reviews online. Users have been positive about the range of games, fast withdrawals, and the bonuses. But Stake has also been rated poorly by unimpressed users.
But remember: you and other players could have completely different experiences of the same site. Read reviews carefully and be aware of potential problem areas before you decide whether to play at Duel or Stake.
Pros and Cons
Here are the essential pros and cons of Duel and Stake:
Duel
| Pros | Cons |
| Duel Originals feature a 0% house edge | No bonuses |
| No KYC on registration for a streamlined signup | As Duel is newer than Stake, it has less brand recognition |
| More than 5,000 games across slots, live games, and live game shows | Small set of responsible gambling tools |
| Instant 50% rakeback on bets across slots and live games | |
| Extensive sportsbook available |
Stake
| Pros | Cons |
| Stake Originals offer high RTP with a 1% house edge or less | KYC completion required before withdrawals |
| Large sportsbook even allows for political and entertainment bets | VIP club requires a high wagering history before allowing low rakeback |
| Huge variety of promotions includes tournaments across multiple areas | Design feels less user-friendly than Duel’s |
| Strong, trust-building brand recognition and high market position | |
| VIP club offers loyalty rewards across several levels |
Which Casino Should You Choose?
The goal of my Duel vs Stake review is to give you all the information you need to pick the right crypto casino for you. Both casinos have their pros and cons, but comparing them carefully will help you understand whether Duel or Stake is the best.
Ultimately, it depends on what matters to you most at an online casino. If you prioritize a high RTP/low house edge, Duel will probably be the right pick. That’s also true if you want to avoid the KYC process before your first withdrawal and you’re looking for a competitive rakeback.
As for Stake? It has fewer games, a lower rakeback, and higher house edges than Duel. But it also has a VIP program that offers ongoing rewards, even if the wagering requirements to advance through levels are incredibly high. Stake also accepts more cryptocurrencies than Duel and has a forum for community building.
Browse both casinos in depth to understand the differences and similarities for yourself. Only register and start depositing when you feel confident that Duel or Stake suits your gambling preferences.
Final Verdict
Personally, I’d play at Duel for its transparency and player-first approach. It’s aimed at crypto users who want a refreshing change from the standard online gambling experience.
The 100% RTP/0% house edge available in its Duel Originals line is a major selling point. Another benefit of playing at Duel is the 50% instant rakeback on slots and live casino games. Our full Duel Casino review breaks these features down in more detail.
But there’s also the explicit transparency across the site. From its no-holds-barred language to the extensive breakdown of its anti-bonus approach, I felt that I was seeing something innovative at Duel.
However, I’d recommend Stake to players who want to gamble at an online casino with strong brand recognition and reputation. You can bet on thousands of games and sports events from around the world. Low rakeback is available, along with VIP rewards and promotions.
But for my money, Stake can’t match Duel’s zero-edge ambitions or surprising (even shocking) transparency.
